Antifouling
Antifouling is a vital task for any boat, especially those that are on the water for any length of time. While it isn’t as fun as tinkering on the engine or polishing the chrome, it still has to be done.
Biofouling is where a boat that is left on the water soon gets coated, first by algae and later by barnacles, mussels and seaweed. Biofouling creates a rough surface on the hull of the boat, creating drag, reducing manoeuvrability and impacting fuel efficiency.
Antifouling is the process of removing the build up of biofouling and coating the boat to help prevent future fouling. Anti-fouling is an absolute necessity and well worth the investment.
